Supplier Quality Engineer
Supplier Quality Engineer required to work within our Quality team, based at our Global HQ in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.
The key purpose of the Supplier Quality Engineer is to work closely with all suppliers of Corin to ensure best practice and quality standards are adhered to.
Do you have a mechanical or biomedical engineering degree, and time served experience within a supplier quality assurance role in a highly regulated environment? Corin are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our high-performing team, working in a fast-paced, agile environment. You will work closely with all suppliers of Corin, to ensure best practice and quality standards are adhered to.
Corin is a medical device business with innovative robotically assisted platforms for joint replacement surgery. Our OMNIBotics & OPS systems utilize intelligent instrumentation to give surgeons the ability to perform patient-specific procedures with high accuracy, with more consistent results and improved recovery rates.
The key responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer are to;
- Working in a team environment with suppliers to develop and implement best practices that emphasise defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste in order to provide continuous improvements to meet customer requirements.
- Collect root cause analysis and provide corrective feedback to minimise potential for disruption to production due to supply issues.
- Maintain & progress supplier non-conformances/records via Electronic Quality Management System.
- Manage the customer specific requirements and offer technical support to suppliers.
- Responsible for ensuring that the products produced meet quality standards required minimising quality costs and maximising customer satisfaction whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to.
- Introduce initiatives based on general supplier development/improvement.
- Maintain the robustness of product following new product introductions to ensure continuity and improvement in supplier capability.
- Work on multiple phases or sub-tasks of projects or entire projects of high complexity, with results impacting on project completion.
- Work with suppliers to ensure supplied parts and materials meet Safety, Quality, and Cost and Delivery requirements.
- Conduct regular Quality Review Meetings with key suppliers and provide report to Senior Management when required.
- Develop, Document and maintain a supplier rating system and report to both suppliers and Senior Management.
- Conduct Supplier reviews/ audits to ensure the supplier processes meet our requirements.
- Adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements in line with Corin’s ISO13485 QMS & Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) FDA21 CFR Part 820.
- Ensure that process & timeline requirements for Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) are met in accordance with Corin’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and in support of Corin’s Global Objectives for CAPA.
The ideal Supplier Quality Engineer will have;
- Degree, in an Engineering or Science Discipline, or demonstrated equivalent.
- Five years minimum experience in a Quality Engineering role within a Mechanical Engineering environment, preferably in the Medical Device sector.
- Good level of problem-solving skills
- Experience of Supplier quality development
- Driving Licence
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
