Summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our team working on a major project at Manchester Airport valued in excess of £100M. This involves the refurbishment of the existing terminal 2 on the site with a new construction of a departure pier. This position will be focusing on the new departure pier.

In this role you will be responsible for managing the commercial team and practices, advising the senior management in the commercial risks and opportunities on the contract. You will be managing a team of SQS, QS and a AQS, reporting into the Commercial Director for the project.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Ensure the accuracy and rationality of all project level Risk and Opportunity Schedules
  • Provide leadership for the commercial team; in line with company standards and values, working to maximise the potential of both the teams and the individuals within them.
  • Monitor and manage the commercial performance of the Project and the Project commercial staff and ensure they successfully achieve company, division, team and individual objectives.
  • Build and maintain high level mutually beneficial customer, key supplier and vendor relationships.
  • Work with the Project commercial team to prepare the Commercial Plan. Ensure all identified Contract obligations, conditions precedent and risks are communicated to and understood by the Project team.
  • Be responsible for the submission of applications for payment and reporting to the finance function how much and when payments are forecast to be received.
  • Manage the on-going Commercial aspects of subcontracts including agreement of terms and conditions to ensure close alignment with the obligations undertaken by NG Bailey and the requirements of the Delegated Authorities Matrix.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant experience on large M&E / Building services projects.
  • Knowledge or experience of NEC contracts
  • Experience of leading a team.
